4 03 2008

For those who are interested, there are a few iPhones that landed in the shop.

8GB version, fully unlocked, 1.1.4 firmware, base configuration for Switzerland made. Brand new, in their original packaging.

Ah… the price? CHF 750.- and you have it in 2 days (at least in Switzerland)!

EDIT: They are all gone! I will have again a few in about 1 week! Sorry!

Unlock… all iPhones (up to 1.1.4)

He did it again. Zibri released ZiPhone 2.5, that unlocks ALL iPhone versions (up to 1.1.4)!!!

Here are the unlocking instructions (careful, very difficult.. ;-) ):

- Make sure you don’t have a phone that was initially unsimlocked with anySIM 1.0 or similar. If it is the case, virginize you phone first (google “virginize iPhone” to learn how to do that). I think ZiPhone can do it but I never tried…

- Download the firmware file you need from Apple (links can be found here) and, with iTunes, restore (yes, restore) your iPhone to the firmware version you just downloaded (click on “restore” while holding the “alt” key on Mac or “shift” on PC)

- Once the restore is finished, download ZiPhone 2.5 from here.

- Launch ZiPhone and click on “Do it all”. For more advanced users, read the instructions of ZiPhone.

- After a few minutes, your phone is unlocked and ready to use. Insert your SIM card and here we go!

- I still recommend you do the following to iPhone in peace: connect to a WiFi network, launch installer and install 2 things: in “System” install “BSD subsystem”, and in “iClarified”, install “AppSupport patch (1.1.4)”.

That’s it!! … and don’t forget not to update when the next firmware version is out!

… End of coffee break: 1.1.4 is out!

And, for the moment, it cannot be activated anymore! Translation: don’t update. :-(

By the way: also tell your friends in the US not to bring back phones anymore. Wait and see!
